Why we made easyhealth.org.uk

We made this website so that it is easier for people to find health information that is easy to understand.

We also want to encourage organisations to make their information free. This enables people to get it more quickly and easily.

Over 40 organisations from across the country have put their information on to this website. This is because we all want to make it easier for people with learning disabilities to understand more about their health.

If people understand what is happening with their health then they will feel more confident in taking control of it.
Easyhealth.org.uk is one way in which Generate and all the organisations on the website are working together to reduce unneccessary health inequalities.

You can download and print off most of this information for free.
Who is the website for?

The website is for all people who want to understand their own health.

It’s also to help health professionals like doctors and nurses to give a better service.
easyhealth.org.uk will help people who like their information to:

- be eye-catching
- use simple words
- have photos, symbols and pictures
How long it takes to download information

If you have ‘broadband’, downloading information usually takes just a few seconds.
If you have ‘dial-up’ it will take longer. In a few years time most people will probably have ‘broadband’.

We have been funded by the Department of Health to make this website and we thank them for their support.
The website company Innovation Digital helped us to make this website.

Generate thanks the many organisations who have put their information on this website.
This website is a partnership between many organisations across the country. It wouldn't exist if we didn't all believe that people with learning disabilities deserved better access to health care.
Special thanks go to the 'stars' of the videos, particularly all the staff at Specsavers (Wandsworth), Tom Coffey at The Brocklebank Health Centre (Wandsworth), David Mudie at The Brocklebank Health Centre, Barkers Pharmacy (Clapham Junction) and Richard Lamplough.
