#MyGPandMe is a campaign to help make primary care fair for people who have a learning disability and autism. It is led by not-for-profit support provider Dimensions, working with primary care services.
Research over the past few decades has underlined the significant inequalities people who have a learning disability and autism experience across health services. For example, the Equality and Human Rights Commission has found that people with learning disabilities are five times more likely to end up in hospital for health issues that would normally be dealt with through primary care.
Dimensions want to tackle the inequalities that people with learning disabilities and autism face when accessing healthcare. They have developed an online course that will take you through different ways you can make your practice more accessible and inclusive for your patients.
