Our Latest Activities

Last year Easy Health created and rolled out an easy read survey to assess cervical screening appointment pathways accessibility for people with learning disabilities in Wandsworth.

The project was commissioned by The Wandsworth GP federation (formerly BHCIC) to get an insight into the needs and experiences of patients with a Learning Disability, In assisted or Independent Living.

Whilst Wandsworth GP Federation Surgeries and PCNs in the area were also surveyed.

This project is part of a review of the current appointment pathway and related information for transformation to Accessible Information Standard [AIS].

An easy read version of this report and recommendations is being created and will be published on easy health, in due course.

We also aim to Implement the pathway with at least one GP practice to help improve access to appointments for patients with a lived experience of learning disabilities and or autism.

Healthwatch Wandsworth asked to publish our cervical screening
report and recommendations in their newsletter, with links to the easy health platform.

They shall also share it with the South West London NHS ICB for it’s insight bank.

Our Ever Growing Easy Read Resource Bank

We continue to add to and update our vast resource database on easy health to ensure our members have access to vital health information and advice is in easy read/accessible formats.

In June we received a contribution from Manchester Metropolitan University who shared their Medications and My Mental Health NIHR funded toolkit.

It's designed to help people with learning disabilities be more involved in decisions about their mental health medications.

Then in a meeting with NHS 111, we were asked to publish their easy read feedback form, so they could get more insight into the views and needs of people with a lived experience of learning disabilities and autism.

These and many more useful resources will continue to be published on our platform in due course.
